Ben served active duty as an attorney in the Judge Advocate General Corps, U.S.N.R.
(1968 1971); was an Associate with the tax firm of Bever, Dye, Mustard & Belin,
Wichita, Kansas (1971 1973); was an Estate and Gift Tax Examiner with the Internal
Revenue Service (1973 1975); was a founding partner in the Johnson County law firm
of Hamill, Neill & Dwyer (1975 1985); and was appointed by Governor Robert F.
Bennett to serve as the General Counsel for the Kansas Department of Revenue
(1975 1979).
Ben is a frequent speaker on state and local taxes and is the co-author of the tax
section of the Kansas Bar Association Annual Review of the Law, and has served as
the Chairman of the Legislative Committee of the Kansas Bar Association.
Governors Bill Graves & Kathleen Sebelius have appointed Ben to serve as a member
of the Advisory Council to the Kansas Secretary of Revenue.
